Getting started

Create your account

Signing up takes a minute. You choose a plan first: Free needs no card, and every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial. What takes slightly longer is the setup wizard afterwards, which asks a few questions about your business and uses the answers to give you a starting point rather than an empty account.

How signing in works

Choose Get started at the top of any page, pick a plan on the pricing page, and sign up — or Sign in to come back, on a phone too. Once you are signed in, the same link reads My account and takes you straight to your dashboard.

There are three ways in, and none of them involves choosing a password:

  • Continue with Google or Continue with Apple — the fastest option, and the one to use if your team already lives in a Google or Apple account.
  • Send magic link — enter your address and we email you a sign-in link. It expires after five minutes and works once.

If you sign in with Apple and choose not to share your name, we use the part of your email address before the @ instead — and if you also hid your email, that is the random address Apple made up for you. Your team sees it until you change your name in your profile.

There is no password to forget

Queue Join has no passwords, so there is no password reset either. If you cannot get in, request a fresh sign-in link — an old one will have expired or already been used. Losing access to the email address is the only thing that genuinely locks you out, so if that address is a personal one, move it to something the business controls before you rely on it.

The setup wizard

The first time you sign in you are sent to a two-step wizard. You cannot skip it — the answers create your organisation. If your email address belongs to a business we can look up, some answers are filled in for you; check them, because they are a guess.

  1. Your business name

What your customers call you. It appears in every message you send and at the top of every page they see, so use the trading name rather than the registered company name.

  2. Your website

Optional. If you give one, we take a screenshot of it and show it at the top of the dashboard sidebar when you are looking at all your locations at once. You can swap it for an image of your own, or add a website later, under business information.

  3. Your public link

A short name for your business in public web addresses — qjoin.co/q/your-name opens your join page, or a list of your branches once you have more than one. It is filled in from your business name and checked for availability as you type. If another business, or any branch, already uses it, or it clashes with a page we use ourselves, you are offered an alternative.

Each location also gets a link of its own, made from this name when the location is created, and that is what your QR codes use. You can change the public link later under business information, but anywhere you have shared the old one stops working, so pick one you are happy to keep.

  4. Your industry, size and country

Size is how many locations you have, roughly. The industry decides which starting services and resources we create for you — a salon gets a consultation and a styling appointment, a pharmacy gets a prescription pickup. All of them are ordinary rows you can rename or delete. The country sets your currency and where your first location starts out on the map, and its time zone. None of it is locked in. You also accept the terms of service here.

  5. What you want to use it for

The second step: waitlists, appointments, events, visitor sign-in and so on — tick everything that applies. This is remembered as a preference rather than a restriction — nothing is switched off because you did not tick it.

When you finish, your organisation is created, you become its Owner, and a welcome email goes to the address you signed in with.

What exists the moment you finish

  • An organisation, with you as its Owner.
  • The six standard roles — Owner, Admin, Location manager, Editor, Staff and Reader — ready to assign to anyone you invite.
  • A first location called “Main location”, with one queue, called “Walk-ins”.
  • A handful of services and a resource category matched to your industry, plus one resource standing for you.
  • A Free plan subscription. Nothing charges until you choose to upgrade.

The first location is only a placeholder: it sits roughly in the middle of your country and has no opening hours. Give it its real details next.
